Removing Google Analytics Speeds Up Queries by 65% .. wow, sucks for Google huh

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Your website may be feeling sluggish when it loads. Betchya dollars to donuts it is your Google Analytics dragging out your load time. :) Removing Google Analytics led to an immediate speed improvement on Primezero i18n Terminal.

When you are designing a web application for 1 user, all that data doesn’t matter. In fact, one could only conclude that Google Analytics ( * cough *, Urchin) was re-tooled by Google for the purpose of selling AdWords. ;)  Smart people.

Agreed with Nutrun. Removing Google Analytics removes speed penalty

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

first, read:

http://nutrun.com/weblog/does-google-analytics-make-your-pages-slow/

then, ponder …

every snippet of codes for engine performance. two things are slowing down the query on the Primezero i18n Terminal:

1. Google Analytics  + GoogleBots for Adsense

2. MSN and Yahoo bots (sorta, bots but not really bots)

hmm let’s see.

Gaming the System

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

I hear about it more and more … and unfortunately, even more nowadays. It is scary that wherever a system exists, a method to “game” it also exists. How dreadful.

Examples of people “gaming the system”:

  • U.S. Tax Code
  • Stocks and Bonds
  • Commodities
  • Hedge Funds
  • Google at recent FCC auction (ya, I said it …)
  • Contractors double-dipping for contracts
  • $500 hammers
  • WordPress Themes Viewer
  • Digg.com users
  • Slashdot users
  • venture capitalists….

Something strange happening in the economy as the commercial real estate paper is becoming worthless. Why? If the stores continue to close, then the economy of shipping and fulfillment will collapse.

Hong Kong Dollar begins de-coupling with U.S. Dollar, as Hong Kong reads Singapore’s tea leaves

Friday, April 11th, 2008

:) This is a good things for many economies in Asia. All Asian economies remember what happened when the currency crisis started in Thailand. Singapore flinched first. Now, Hong Kong’s Monetary Authority must move quickly to not be the last person standing when the music stops.

Web 2.0 Jumps The Shark, Again, With Buzz.com

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

As you can see, Buzz.com is supposed to be hip, cool and has gradients … wooooooow. :) ok. Web 2.0 only worked with one ingredient: buzz. Buzz powers digg. Buzz powered technorati until spammers destroyed it. Buzz powers TMZ. Buzz pull the wool over Google’s eyes in their YouTube acquisition.

Now, there is a website about buzz on a server owned by company who is about as exciting as paint drying.

“Super-AIMS” Math Test To Include Physics and Chemistry

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Several situations in physics and chemistry use algebra and geometry anyways. SO, I might as well include physics and chemistry question in the independent completely different way to test student achievement in high school.

I have already released the sample questions from the new test to some teachers in the field. Great feedback so far. Thank you all.

I will not release the new sample test questions to the public until later because the Arizona Department of Education “finds innovative streams of thought” from this site. I want to fine-tune then copyright the first edition of the exam.

More details later.

Something Very Very Scary Has Just Occured to Me

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

I just listened to a Wall Street executive try to explain his fancy credit schemes.

He didn’t understand it himself.

I just nodded my head, excused myself, ran to the nearest restroom and vomitted.

He is paid millions, and I am paid next to nothing,
but I understand the problem more than he does.

Now, imagine someone at a nuclear control panel who doesn’t know what he is doing.

I created this site and solutions manual so you can practice and succeed without needing to pay anyone money for a test that you and your parents have ALREADY paid taxes to fund. Get my drift?
